"Talent Put to Good Use"

A group of talented wannabes put their musical expertise to good use by performing at a charity dinner in Reading on Sunday.

Matt Wallis - of Britain's Got Talent fame - organised the event at the function hall Shenai in London Street in aid of the Christian Lewis Trust which provides support and holidays for the children with cancer and their families. The variety show and charity dinner raised around £1,800 for the trust.

Keyboard player an singer Matt Wallis, 36, from Caversham, said "it went really well. It was quite stressful having to sell all of those tickets, but I think I would do it again and for the same charity."

Other artists taking part included Emily Dunn who was also in Britain's Got Talent and Tracey Newton who was in X-Factor and Stars in Their Eyes.

Father and son duo Josh and Junior Dawes played guitar and sang as did Jane Boyd and Kerry Lewis.

Mr Wallis performed on ITV's Britain's Got Talent in February this year.
